Hamid Daya FRCS (ORL)
Consultant ENT Surgeon with a specialist interest in Paediatric ENT to St. George's Hospital. He is also Honorary Senior Lecturer at St. George's Medical School and Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Middlesex University. QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIALIST TRAINING Hamid Daya qualified from the Universities of St. Andrews and Manchester receiving is medical degree in 1988. After completing his postgraduate specialist training at The Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London and at The Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford, he then undertook a 2 year Fellowship in Paediatric ENT at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto. He returned to London in 2000 to take up his present consultant position at St. George's Hospital. He provides a comprehensive Paediatric ENT service with particular interests in head and neck problems, airway disorders and children with hearing loss. In addition to his Paediatric interest he also offers a general adult ENT service with a focus on ear, sinus and voice conditions. PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS Hamid Daya is a member of the following professinal associations: 1. The British Association of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery 2. The British Association of Paediatric Otolaryngology 3. The American Academy of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery 4. The Royal Society of Medicine 5. The Royal College of Surgeons, England 6. The British Medical Association Hamid Daya also has a particular interest in the promotion of ENT services in the Third World and has worked in Cambodia, Tanzania and Ghana. He is a member of the board for "Sound Seekers", a charity focused on the promotion of ear care in Commonwealth countries. He runs 2 charitable funds at St George's Hospital for the promotion of patient care and research and education in Paediatric ENT.
