Children who are undergoing surgery will always have a Consultant Paediatric Anaesthetist for administration of general anaesthesia. Childrens surgery is always carried out in designated Paediatric Units wih appropriate Paediatric medical and nursing cover as well as acess to a Paediatric Intensive care Unit
