How to Apply Nose Drops
Because of the shape of the nasal cavity, it is important that nose drops are applied in such a way that they are able to reach the sinuses, in particular the osteomeatal complex. To achieve this the drops can be applied in two ways:

1. The simplest way is to lie on a bed wit the head extended over the edge. The drops are place on one side with the head slightly turned to that side. The head should be maintained in that position for about 30 seconds. The head is then turned slightly to the other side and the drops applied in a similar fashion.

2. An alternative is stand with the head downwards and forwards. The drops are again applied to each side.

These positions ensure that the drops do not simply trickle down to the back of the nose into the throat.
