Hearing Tests
Our Audiologist performs diagnostic hearing tests for patients above 3 years old. The results will be given to you & explained at the appointment and the results may be sent to any other doctors involved in your care. Appropriate referrals could also be made if necessary. If authorisation is obtained your bill may be sent directly to your UK based health insurance company.

Soft Bands
Softbands are hearing aids enclosed within a headband that allow sound to transmit directly to the inner ear bypassing the normal conductive system which is affected in children who have “glue ear.” These can be fitted soon after diagnosis allowing your child to hear during the waiting period while the glue ear clears or a decision is made to insert grommets. LHC is currently the only private practice in London offering this service.

Hearing Aids
At London Hear Care, we fit a variety of hearing aids and levels of technology, specific to your wants and needs. Our hearing aid brands of choice are Phonak and Signia, which come in various styles. We consider every option available to our patients and never use a one-size-fits-all approach. We thoroughly explore and present our range of hearing aid devices and provide 14 day trials. We carry out expert hearing aid programming as well as advanced customised real ear verification and percentile analysis so that when you step out of our office, we have an objective and confident measure of what the hearing aid is giving you.

Swim & Sound Filter Plugs
At ent4kids we are able to take moulds & provide custom ear plugs, swimming plugs & sound filter plugs. The impression appointment will take about 15 minutes and your plugs will be sent to you within 7 days.
We suggest that anyone with a perforated ear drum or predisposition to ear infections wear swimming plugs while swimming/washing their hair in order to avoid dirty water getting into the middle ear cavity.

Wax Removal
Wax removal is performed at ent4kids either by an ent consultant or by a trained audiologist via micro suction.
Microsuction is considered far safer and more comfortable than other methods such as syringing because it does not rely on forcing pressurised water into the ear canal, with potential risk of damage to the eardrum.
The wax removal consultation usually lasts up to 30 minutes. If for any reason it is found to be unsafe to proceed with microsuction we will talk you through other available options for resolving your ear wax.
Following a wax clearance appointment you may wish to have a hearing screening performed. During this screening each ear will be assessed separately and your hearing thresholds will be explained.

Epley Maneuvre
The Epley manoeuvre is an exercise performed to treat a type of vertigo called benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV).
BPPV is caused by a problem in the inner ear. It is often associated with older age, but things like head injuries or viral infections and stress can also cause it.
The Epley manoeuvre can be carried out by an audiologist or doctor to relieve symptoms. Please contact us to make an appointment if you are experiencing any dizziness which comes about with movement of the head. We are able to treat this.
